Optimized Experiment Design for Marine Systems Identification

چکیده
Simulation of maneuvering and design of motion controls for marine systems require non-linear mathematical models, which often have more than one-hundred parameters. Model identiication is hence an extremely diicult task. This paper discusses experiment design for marine systems identiication and proposes a sensitivity approach to solve the practical experiment design problem. The applicability of the sensitivity approach is demonstrated on a large non-linear model of surge, sway, roll and yaw of a ship. The use of the method is illustrated for a container-ship where both model and full-scale tests were conducted.
